The Whiskey Social featuring Megg Farrell on Conversation Crossroad’s INDIEvening.
Listen to the Conversation Crossroad INDIEvening interview with Megg Farrell
The Whiskey Social is …not a band it is an idea, a concept envisioned by myself, Megg. I believe the most important things in this world are beauty and passion. I believe in living to the extremes and making a mess. I believe in admiring the moon at 2am alone in the wilderness of Vermont. I believe in howling songs out while passing the wine bottle on The Seine until daybreak. I believe in highs that let your energy flow for hours until there is nothing left. I believe in the beauty of the lows that leave you sobbing silently in your car. I believe in doing things that don’t make sense because they feel good. That is what I believe in and that is what we dare to express through these songs, through our energy as a collective. We are a constantly evolving group of musicians as I am a constantly evolving human being. My music is the only way I know how to express what my life is. This world holds less and less beauty every day and that is why when we find it, it is that much more special. Moments of beauty and passion are becoming fewer and fewer, and through the whiskey social I get to experience them daily. I hope we can share that with you.
We are …Megg Farrell, Ernest Merrimont, David Hauss, Anton Nilsson. The Whiskey Social is a constantly changing rotation of players due to the fact that we get around. No matter what I also have one person who leads with me. When we are in France or in all the EP’s it is Lucas Ung who sings and plays viola with me. In America, if you come to see us, it is Ernest Merrimont. Ernest has been in the band since its start, he plays rhythm guitar. David is our bassist and Anton, our drummer. Anton, being from Sweden originally, was out of the country for 3 months. Our honorary Whiskey drummer is Sam Monaco. Our lead guitarist Jake Winchester, who is featured on the second EP is currently in Portland, Oregon. Other honorary members who come and go have been, Patrick Gallagher (piano), Antoine Ladué (percussion), Lionel Hubert (Bass), Dominic Boyle (Violin). By the time you are reading this we may have new members!
