Garrison Leykam has held senior management positions for such major corporations as MCI Telecommunications, Grand Circle Travel and DSL.net. His leadership and team building abilities have been profiled on ESPN 2′s “Extreme Magazine” television program as well as in publications including the Boston Sunday Globe, Spotlight magazine and Training & Development. Garrison has taught “Leadership” and “Management & Organizations” at the University of New Haven and “Diversity” at Sacred Heart University and holds a Masters Degree from New York City’s New School for Social Research.
Garrison’s preparation for an attempted summit of Mt. McKinley (aka Denali) was commended by Connecticut Governor John Rowland and his motorcycle trip across Egypt was the subject of a two-segment feature story in New York Rider magazine. As President of his own production company, Garrison produced and hosted “DINERS” on Connecticut Public Television (CPTV). His motorcycle from the TV show was featured in the “MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles” exhibit at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Ohio alongside bikes owned by Brad Pitt, Peter Fonda, Journey, Rush, and Foreigner. The “DINERS” motorcycle earned a two-page spread in the MotoStars coffee table companion book to the exhibit. Prior to “DINERS,” Garrison produced and hosted the TV series “Out Of Your Comfort Zone” for Cablevision.
Garrison just completed producing and hosting the documentary “Comic On A Half Shell” about his experiences learning to be a stand-up comedian and appearing at the legendary Gotham Comedy Club. He currently produces and hosts the Internet radio program “Conversation Crossroad” and formerly was host and producer of “Summit Your Life” on AM News-Talk WSTC & WNLK on the Cox Radio Network which was featured in the nationally-advertised Pepsi Refresh Project.
Garrison was an executive with music industry giant London Records, Inc. during the height of the British Wave and produced the Texas band Greezy Wheels, legendary jazz pianist Erroll Garner and hit singer-songwriter Leslie Pearl. He’s been associated in various capacities with the music of The Moody Blues, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Al Green, and others. A performer himself, Garrison was President of his own record label, B-LonG Records and has appeared at CBGB’s and Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Café. He is a Featured Speaker with World Class Speakers and Entertainers and was profiled in the Speaker Spotlight section of Sharing Ideas magazine. Garrison currently has a book and reality TV series in the works. In his spare time he wonders why he has spare time.
